Olive Groves of Salento: Raku Vase

Raku-fired ceramic vase. An infection of a bacteria strain called Xylella fastidiosa restricts the flow of sap within the olive tree and chokes its extremities causing the dieback of the leaves, twigs and branches. There are millions of olive trees affected in the Salento region, Italy, it is an economic, ecological and cultural disaster. This vase is part of my series created as a tribute.
